SECTION 10.22; 10.23; 10.24; 10.25
<br />10.22 INTERPRETATION AND APPLICATION
<br />(1) In interpreting and applying the provisions of this ordinance they shall be
<br />.held to be nimimum requirements for the promotion of health, safety, conveni-
<br />ence, morals,comfort, and general welfare. It is not intended by this ordinance
<br />to interfere with or abrogate or annul any easements, covenants, or similar
<br />agreements between parties' nor is it intended by this ordinance to repeal,
<br />abrogate, annul or in any way impair or interfere with any existing provisions
<br />of law or ordinance, or any rules, regulations or permits previously issued or
<br />adopted, or which may be issued or adopted according to law, relating to the
<br />use, occupancy, location or height of buildings or premises; provided, however,
<br />that when this ordinance imposes a greater restriction upon the use, occupancy,
<br />location or height of buildings or premises than imposed by such existing pro -
<br />visions of law or ordinance, or by such rules, regulations, or permits, the
<br />provisions of this ordinance shall control.
<br />10.23 CO?R'LETION, RESTORATION OR ENLARGEMENT OF EXISTING STRUCTURES
<br />(1) Nothing herein contained shall require any change in the plans, construction or
<br />intended use of a building or premises for which plans have been prepared here-
<br />tofore, and the construction of which shall have been diligently pursued within
<br />three (3) months after the effective date of this ordinance.
<br />(2) Nothing,herein contained shall prevent the alteration, restoration or repair of
<br />any building occupied by anon - conforming use at the effective date of this
<br />ordinance; provided, however, that the cost of such alteration, restoration or
<br />repairs shall.not during.the life of the building exceed fifty (50) per cent of
<br />the assessed valuation of such structure or building, such valuation being that
<br />in effect for the year in which such use became non- conforming.
<br />(3) Nothing herein contained shall prevent the restoration of a non - conforming
<br />building or structure destroyed by fire, explosion, act of God or act of public
<br />enemy; provided, however, that if such destruction shall exceed fifty (50) per
<br />cent of the assessed valuation of such structure for the year in which such
<br />destruction occurs, the future use, location, height, setback, rear and side
<br />yards shall conform to this ordinance.
<br />10.24. CHANGES AND. AMENDMENTS
<br />(1) The Dane County Board of Supervisors may from time to time alter, supplement or
<br />change by ordinance the boundaries or classification of districts designated in
<br />this ordinance, or any of the provisions or regulations imposed by this ordinance
<br />in the manner provided by law.
<br />10.25 AD:�ffidISTRAT ION, ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES
<br />(1) ZONING SUPERVISOR
<br />(a) The provisions of this ordinance shall be administered by or under the
<br />direction of the zoning supervisor, who in person or by duly authorized
<br />deputy or assistant shall have the right to enter upon premises affected by
<br />this ordinance at reasonable hours for the purpose of inspection. The zoning
<br />supervisor,shall hold his office under civil service, and vacancies in such
<br />office shall be filled by procedures established by the Civil Service
<br />Ordinance. The zoning committee.shall be the appointing authority for the
<br />position of zoning supervisor.
