DANE COUNTY 'ZONING ORDINANCE <br />BEING CHAPTER 10 OF THE ORDINANCES OF DANE COUNTY <br />An ordinance'to-alter, supplement and change the boundaries and regu- <br />lations' contained in that certain ordinance.adopted by the Dane County Board - <br />of Supervisors on July 20, 1938,•as amended to and including October 25, 1949. <br />which said ordinance is entitled "A zoning ordinance enacted pursuant.to the <br />provisions of Sections 59.97 and 59099 of the statutes and providing penalties <br />for the violation of its provisions ". <br />The Dane County Board of Supervisors does ordain as follows: <br />Section 1. That certain ordinance adopted by the County Board of Supervisors <br />of Dane County of July 20, 1938; as amended, the title to which is recited in <br />the title to this ordinance, shall hereafter be "known and numbered as Chapter <br />10, Dane.County Ordinances, and as so entitled and numbered said title is <br />amended .to read as follows: <br />An ordinance, to be - ltizonn as. Chapter 10, Dane County Ordinances, regulatingj, <br />restricting and determining the location of trades and industries, the location, <br />height, bulk, number of stories, and size of buildings. and other structures, the <br />percentage of lot which may be occupied, the size of yards and other open spaces, <br />the density of population, the location of buildings designed for specific uses; <br />the areas along natural water courses, streams and creeks in which trades and <br />industries and the location of buildings.for specific uses may be prohibited; <br />establishing setback lines; and establishing districts of such number, shape and <br />area deemed best suited to carry out the purposes of this ordinance as it applies <br />to lands outside the limits -of incorporated cities and villages in Dane County; <br />and providing penalties, pursuant to the-authorization of Sections 59.97 and - <br />59.99, Wisconsin Statutes: <br />Section 2. Section 1 of the ordinance of July 20, 1938, the title to which <br />is recited in the title to this ordinance, is renumbered to be Section 10.01, <br />Dane County Ordinances, as so renumbered is amended to read: <br />10.01 DEFINITIONS <br />For the, purposes of this ordinance certain termstised.herein are defined as <br />follows: any,words not .defined herein shall be construed as defined in the <br />Wisconsin Building Code: <br />(1) Accessory Building: A subordinate or supplemental building, the use of <br />which is incidental to that of the main building on the same lot or the use of <br />y <br />the premises on which -it is located. <br />(2) Accessory Use:-.A use customarily incident and accessory to the principal <br />use of a lot or parcel,-or building or structure on the same lot or parcel as <br />the principal use. <br />(3) Apartment - House: -A building containing accomodations for more than two <br />families living independently, of each other.: <br />1 <br />
