SECTION 10.01 <br />DEFINITIONS <br />1. (4) Apartment House Complex: A group of apartment houses, located on a single <br />parcel of land with certain facilities., such as driveways, parking spaces and <br />the like, common to the buildings in the.complex. Apartment house complexes <br />comprised of one hundred or more units may include a restaurant, grocery store, <br />drug store, personal service shop and the like for the convenience of residents <br />in the - complex. <br />(5) Bearings: For the purpose of property descriptions in this ordinance, <br />when the bearings north, south, east and west are used, they shall be construed <br />as relative or approximate; and construed as following section lines, quarter <br />section lines, quarter quarter section lines, or lines parallel to or.at right <br />angles-to such lines, or following mapped property lines or highway lines run= <br />ning approximately.in.the direction indicated. Where exact bearings are_ critical <br />or significant to the description the exact bearing,will be used. <br />(6) Block: That property abutting on one side of a street between the <br />nearest intersecting street, railroad right of way or other natural barriers; <br />providing, however, that where a street curves so that arty two chords thereof <br />form.an angle of one hundred twenty (120) degrees or less, measured on -the lot <br />side, such curve shall be construed as a connecting street.. <br />(7) Boarding House: A building or premises where meals are,served by pre- <br />arrangement for definite periods of time for compensation for five (5) or more <br />persons, but not exceeding twenty (20) persons, not open to transients, in con- <br />tradictinction to hotels and restaurants open to transients. <br />(8) Building: Anything erected or constructed,-the use of which requires <br />more or less permanent location on the ground. The building area of a building <br />shall be that area bounded by the exterior dimensions of the outer walls at the <br />ground Line. <br />(9) Building Height: The vertical distance,: measured from the mean elevation <br />of the finished grade along the front of the building to the highest point on . <br />the roof for flat roofs; to the mean height level between the eaves and the ridge <br />for gable and hip roofs; to the deck line for mansard roofs.. <br />(10) Building Site Area: The ground area of a building or buildings, to- <br />gether with all open spaces required by this ordinance. <br />(11) Camp Site or Camping Grounds:. An area or premises providing facilities <br />for overnight or short term campers in tents, camping trailers or trailers, <br />together with necessary accessory buildings and service facilities which may <br />be necessary for water supply and waste disposal:., and such other facilities as <br />may be required by the state board of health, together with a residence or <br />living quarters for the owner or caretaker on the premises. Such camping <br />grounds must be supervised during the season they are open to the public. <br />(12) Club: An association for some common purpose, but not including a. <br />group organized for or which is actually engaged in rendering -a service which <br />is customarily carried on as a business. A road house or tavern shall not be <br />construed as a club. <br />2 <br />
