January 8, 2007
Mr. Norbert Scribner
Land Division Review
Room 116
City -County Building
Madison, WI 53703-3342
Dear Mr. Scribner:
IN3Wd013A30 V JNINNrld A1141100 3NVO
LOOZ 6 NYr
O3AI333IJ
I have been contact by Ms. Tiffany Olson regarding parcel #026/0511-044-9361-0
owned by Justin Engelhart.
I purchased a three acre parcel in 2003 from a bank that had foreclosed on the
property. The parcel, now retired, was 026/0511-044-9360-2. It was my understanding
that the R2 zoning allowed for a number of splits. I hired Moore Survey to complete the
required work. I did one split of basically one acre and sold the house and building to
Justin Engelhart. I retained ownership of the remaining 1.99 acres.
Mr. Engelhart obtained a mortgage, a title policy was issued, and the 2003 tax bill was
split based on the land and improvements between Mr. Engelhart and me. Separate tax
bills have been received since 2004.
I had no idea that I had bought an illegal parcel and that splitting the parcel was not
permitted. I have no knowledge of Mr. Algrim's parcel or how long ago the parcel I
bought from the bank had its origin.
What is the reason a CSM is required? I was not advised that one was necessary when
I had the property surveyed. What do I have to do at this time to correct the situation, if
indeed these parcels are illegal? I can, if required, have Tim Moore of Moore Survey
submit the survey for certification.
Sincer iy,
it Mu %/Wu&
Ros Schroeter
3001 CTH B
Stoughton,WI 53589
Copy to: Justin Engelhart
Enclosure
