<br />2. ACCOUNTABILITY & COMMUNICATION <br />1. that the SRNA, the Alexander Company, and the various municipalities form a body <br />dedicated to oversight of the development; that this body be included in the <br />Neighborhood Plan and be called "Task Force," "Implementation Team," or similar; <br />2. that all studies, permits, grants, plans and proposals be communicated to the SRNA at <br />conception <br /> <br />Staff response: County Staff will be informing the Neighborhood Association of all <br />ongoing activities on the land. At the meeting the Town, Neighborhood Association, <br />JJR, and the Alexander Company all agreed to create a "Task Force" as recommended <br />in the draft Southdale Neighborhood Plan. <br /> <br />3. GOOD LOCAL JOBS <br />1. that standards for recruitment, training, hiring, and wages be established for developers <br />and tenants in the Novation Campus <br />2. local hiring should include a "first source" provision, 35% minority contractors in <br />construction, job training, regular job fairs and recruitment, and a living wage. <br /> <br />Staff response: The Alexander Company has brought a bank, car dealership, a <br />technical training facility, and most recently a medical administrative office to the <br />campus. There are approximately 600 additional jobs that have been created in the <br />community. With the creation of a "Task Force", avenues will be explored to inform <br />neighborhood residents of recruitment opportunities by resident employees. <br /> <br />4. AFFORDABLE HOUSING <br />1. that permanently affordable housing be included in the redevelopment, with special <br />considerations for first-time, low-income buyers <br />2. the SRNA opposes plans that lead to gentrification and displacement of current residents <br /> <br />Staff response: The housing component of the neighborhood is not a part of the <br />rezoning petition. The "Task Force" will be assigned the duty of instituting the <br />
