ISSUES RAISED

1) Affordable Housing:
a. This rezone request does not disturb any of the apartment buildings.
b. There are a few houses on the property to be rezoned to Cl
i. Majority are vacant
ii. But the reason for the conditional use is to allow occupancy of
those houses to continue in the near term.
111. One of the houses is occupied by a long-term owner occupant
1. We have an agreement with Mr. Schwengle whereby he
will continue to live there as long as he desires
2. He is 85
2) Community Gardens:
a. We have leased land to the Comnlunity Action Coalition for a temporary
community garden
b. The area in question is not in the rezone area

3) Traffic
a. We have not heard of a traffic concerns other than truck traffic through the
residential neighborhood
b. We would support signing the residential streets restrictions on truck
traffic
1. However, this should be taken up with the Town
11. We have no control over signage

4) Jobs
a. It has been our longstanding goal to bring jobs to the neighborhood
i. And really we are just starting to build a critical mass of
employment
b. We would like to see as many of these jobs go to neighborhood residents
as possible.
c. Have aJew ideas on that
1. Key item for us was to attract an education component with ITT
11. Many ways we can collaborate with ITT to make education
affordable, such as scholarships, student loans and grants, etc
111. We have been talking about finding a partner to keep a database or
a list of resumes for neighborhood residents who want a job
1. That we can communicate to our tenants, the employers
WE DON'T CLAIM TO HAVE ALL THE SOLUTIONS
o BUT WE ARE DOING OUR PART
o AND WE ARE WILLING TO COLLABORATE WITH ANYONE
THAT IS WILLING TO HELP US DO SOMETHING POSITIVE.
