• <br /> Distinguished Honorables: <br /> Chair- Helen Johnson, Vice Chair- Karen Cornwell, Secretary - John Hendrick, <br /> Senior Member Agricultural Specialist- Lyman Anderson, Member-Jamie Kuhn, <br /> Member- Carlton Hamre. <br /> Dear Decision Makers of Petition 7409, <br /> ENOUGH ALREADY!!! <br /> This area of Roxbury is predominately dairy farms - intact, functional and <br /> obviously profitable. <br /> This petition, just a very few months following the farm sale, is a reflection on <br /> the petitioners unwillingness to continue a dairy operation where he controlled all <br /> the assets, including the land adjoining his purchase that he has been farming <br /> since 1990-1991. (Ice Age Trail Land greatly funded by Dane County and leased <br /> to him on very favorable terms.) <br /> If he wished to not dairy or be a dairy farmer, many local farm kids would <br /> gladly have rented the dairy facility from him. Current and projected dairy <br /> prices look good. <br /> Unfortunately, the lure of easy, quick, money from development was the prime <br /> mutilator for purchasing the farm; rather than a desire to keep it for farming. <br /> This entire area could easily be one of the Farm Priority Zones. <br /> 101 Friends of Dane <br /> PO Box 136 <br /> Dane, WI 53529 <br />
