Limited Family Business <br /> We are requesting a Conditional Use Permit for a limited family business on our <br /> property at 4123 Twin Valley Road currently zoned Ag-1. The following are the facts <br /> and conditions for the operation of the hair salon: <br /> 1. one owner, part-time, no employees <br /> 2. 20-25 hours per week, flexible hours over 3-4 day period <br /> 3. hours of operation no earlier than 8 a.m. no later than 9 p.m. <br /> 4. maximum cars per day 5 in a 7 hour day <br /> 5. no signage to indicate a business which is located over 180 feet from Twin <br /> Valley Road and is secluded by trees and vegatation <br /> 6. there has never been, nor will there be another business at this location <br /> 7. building permits for structure are on file issued May, 1991 <br /> 8. the building also houses a craft and art hobby studio in garage area--this <br /> is not a business, it is a personal use work shop only <br /> 9. salon is a part-time business only, with no expansion in future--established <br /> to insure financial support for future family plans <br /> 10. a 12 ft. high fence has been built at the request of the neighbors to the <br /> south to insure more privacy--in addition, over 100 feet of heavily wooded <br /> lot (Wayne Rounds property) separates the two properties--pine trees are <br /> being planted along fence line in the spring <br /> We fully intend to abide by the conditions set forth here and by the conditions required <br /> of us by Dane County Zoning. <br /> Any misconceptions regarding our request have been largely due to the <br /> misrepresentation of our request as Commercial Rezoning endeavor. We believe this <br /> confusion between Rezoning and limited family business--C.U.P.--has prevented us <br /> gaining the full support of the Middleton Town Board. We feel this is a very low impact <br /> business on a secluded parcel that is in compliance with the conditions required to <br /> receive the proper permit. <br /> We respectfully request your approval. <br /> Cordially, <br /> Lori and David Kane <br />
