However, more disturbing in the Kane's January 6, 1998, letter to the ZNR Committee is the <br /> following statement: <br /> "7. Building permits for structure are on file issued May, 1991" <br /> As I indicated during my statements to the Committee on January 6, 1998,the Town of <br /> Middleton has not been able to locate any building permit issued by the Town for the garage <br /> which now houses the beauty salon. As noted earlier,the Town requested Ms. Kane to produce <br /> copies of the building permit or proof of payment for a building permit on November 5, 1997, <br /> during the Plan Commission meeting. To date, no information or documents have been <br /> forthcoming from the Kanes. <br /> On January 7, 1998,the Town of Middleton requested copies of all documents in the <br /> possession of Dane County related to the construction of the accessory building by the Kanes. <br /> Mr. John Hagengruber of Dane County Planning and Development responded on January 8, <br /> 1998. The documents provided by Mr Hagengruber are shown in Attachment D. <br /> The documents indicate the following: <br /> 1)A Zoning Permit for a detached garage was issued on 5/15/91. <br /> 2)The garage was to be 30'x 40'. <br /> 3)The garage was to be 2 stories with an average height of 14'. <br /> 4)Inspections were completed on August 5, 1991. <br /> 5) Several "Notations"were attached to Zoning Permit ZP 1991 1466 including: <br /> -More than one (1)accessory building is permitted. However,the total floor area <br /> of the accessory building or buildings may not exceed 100 percent of the floor <br /> area. <br /> NOTE: As shown in Attachment E, the Town Assessor has indicated that the <br /> residence has 1,584 square feet on the first floor and basement. The accessory <br /> building as currently constructed has 1200 square feet on the first floor and <br /> 600 square feet on the second floor or a total of 1,800 square feet. In addition, <br /> the Assessor's work papers note two additional accessory buildings on the <br /> property with 60 square feet and 80 square feet. <br /> 4 <br />
