' descriptive lines I am requesting are different from those Karen and David
,/ Yankovich included in their zoning request. My request includes a little over
one acre'of land; this change was made to accommodate the new additions to
our current building, playground requirements, and parking (See Drawing ).
Please note that the Town of Middleton Plan Committee and the Town of
Middleton Board have approved of my request subject to their review of our
site map. We will, of course, develop that map to meet any specifications
they require so that our building and the surrounding land is safe and meets
all codes.
Also note that our state licenser, Ann Raminger, of the Wisconsin
Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Community Services,
has tentatively approved our plans and did submit a letter to you on our
behalf.
I request that the committee inform me at the November 14, 1995
meeting of your decision regarding my request. A positive response will
permit me to complete my remodeling projects and curriculum, purchase
supplies, hire teachers, and advertise for students so I can be in full operation
by September, 1996.
III. The Kids Express Learning Center
A. Ages of Students/ Hours of Operation
The Kids Express Learning Center, an academically innovative
preschool/kindergarten, has been designed to serve children ages 2.5 through
6 or 7. Our core program will be offered between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and
3:30 p.m. with a before and after school option available to assist working
parents who desire additional hours of instruction/care for their children.
Our before school option would be offered one-half hour before school begins
(7:30 - 8:00) and our after school option would be offered for two hours (3:30 -
5:30). The after school option will also be open to children up to age 12 whose
parents wish to enroll them for academic tutoring and/or enrichment
programing.
B. The Physical Plant
The current school building, measuring 1800 square feet, has been
inspected by State Building Inspector, Charlotte Thompson. A copy of her
Day Care Center Inspection report is included in Appendix A. Prior to
opening our center, we will, of course, meet all necessary state requirements
as noted on Ms. Thompson's report.
We have developed a three phase building plan which means adding on
to the current structure. Those additions include adding a classroom/cloak
