Traffic Control:
Traffic Control shall include advance warning signs placed both east and west of the
borrow pit entrance during work hours. The advance warning signs will be spaced at 500'
intervals and will include: Road Work Ahead, Be Prepared to Stop, and Flagperson Ahead. A
temporary entrance permit will be obtained from the Wisconsin DOT prior to any site work.
Schedule of Operations:
Work on the site will begin in late March 1997. The 1997 construction area will be
stripped of topsoil and placed in a berm at the bottom of the borrow area. At this time, the
sediment basins and erosion control devices will be constructed. By September 15, 1997
approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of the 1997 construction area will be restored with topsoil, seed,
fertilizer, and mulch. At the end of the construction season, by late November 1997, the
remainder of the stripped area will be restored with topsoil and temporary seed. In April of 1998,
the 1998 construction area will be stripped of topsoil. Excavation will continue in this area
through August of 1998. By September 1, 1998, the entire area will be reclaimed to its final
condition. This will include seeding, fertilizing, and mulching of any disturbed area, removal of
the temporary driveway, and any final erosion control measures to prevent erosion from the site.
Dust Control:
A water truck will be on site at all times for dust control on the haul roads and adjacent
roadways. In addition, a power broom will be located on the projects, and will be used to clean
Highway 12/18 of any mud and debris that is tracked onto the road.
Fueling of Vehicles:
Vehicles will be fueled at an area away from the Little Door Creek. Trucks for hauling
will be fueled at an area away from the site. The only equipment to be fueled at the site will be
the excavating equipment, and this will be performed on areas of high elevation with soil ground
cover.
Property Security:
To prevent unauthorized access to the site, a fence and locked gate will be placed at the
entrance to the site along highway 12/18. In addition, the site will be marked with No
Trespassing signs to prevent public access to the site.
