James Gregorius
January 18, 1996
Page Five
feet USGS. Therefore, extraction as shown will be no
nearer the ground water than 45' and by the extraction
depths shown, the most near point of extraction will be
at the primary openings in each area (See well
information attached - well constructor's reports)
See ground water information attached per map I and
packet of well reports in file.
In the ecological report provided by Applied Ecological
Services, Inc. , the plan for diversion of surface waters
through detention basins is set forth. According to the
consulting ecologists "Because most water will be
directed to the same sub-drainage basins (tributary
areas) where it currently flows and because there is a
long distance between the detention basins and the
ultimate discharge location for this water, our
preliminary analysis suggests there will be ample time
for infiltration and hydrologic attenuation which will
result in no significant change in the ground water or
surface water discharge from proposed quarry operation
property into any of the adjacent parcels, including the
Cam-Rock Park. The hydrologist also found that there
would be no affect on ground water maintained wet lands
present within the Cam-Rock Park location nor would there
be any impact on local wells or ground water resources.
All quarrying activity will be above ground water level.
A permanent crusher will not be located on the site nor
will fuel storage be located on the site which will
prevent or minimize fuel spills.
8. Description of the measures to be taken to control
dust, noise, vibration.
The applicant will comply with all state, federal and
local regulations. These state and federal clean air
rules mandate that crushed stone products be handled in
a way to minimize fugitive dust. The principal fugitive
sources at the quarry include the portable crushing
equipment, roadways, stockpile areas and dust from loads
of crushed stone being hauled away from the site. Steps
that must be taken to minimize fugitive dust emissions
which cross the applicant's property line include:
a. The quarrying will take place in a pit surrounded
by a berm.
24 N.
