Since the procedure
here seems out of order, and we have not even had a chance to
study much of what is being requested here, I feel I have no
choice at this time but to voice my objection to the re-zone
request. My major concern at this time is zoning this property
commercial. Although Betty and David Hammond may turn out to
be exceptional neighbors, what happens if the newspaper fails,
or they decide to move to a different location. This opens
up this now commercial piece of property to becoming a liquior
store, an open pantry or even a gas station. I might possibly
change my position on this if a legally binding contract
restricts his deed to returning to residential property if he
should vacate the property. Also, the design of this building
would have to have the appearance of a home. I am not
comfortable with the "pole" building back he has suggested for
his building. This part of the building would face my home.
It is my opinion that pole buildings are meant for industrial
parks. Until some discussion and agreement is met, I do not
at this time wish for this piece of property, set between two
homes to become commercial.
IZ-64L
/' cc9 ? 53
