Motion by Chr . Green , second <br /> by Leonard Preston to approve variance request #2583 at 2000 Skyline <br /> Drive. Passed ,: <br /> 2) VARIANCE -- Marvin Thomann - FROM FENCING REQUIREMENT BETWEEN <br /> RESIDENTIAL/COMMERCIAL PROPERTY , at SW corner CTH N/Rinden Rd. Motion <br /> by R . Ritchie to approve a variance to the county screening requirement <br /> of fencing between a residential and commercial lot as long as both <br /> properties have the same owner . Second by Paul Tyler . Passed . <br /> 3) PRELIMINARY CERTIFIED SURVEY MAP - Iry Barker . For property at <br /> 1772 Oakview Dr : combining lot 11 and 1/2 of lot 12. West of 2741 CTH <br /> N . Wishes to rezone 30 acres from A--1Ex to Ci for Motel/Hotel. <br /> operation. Several concerns expressed by commission members included: <br /> size of septic system for operation of this type ; taking this number of <br /> iacres of land presently farmed and turning it into commercial ; several <br /> aspects of this request are not within the guidelines of the Town Land <br /> Use Plan; traffic volume and access using present driveway easement; no <br /> difinitive plans for use of this parcel if it were rezoned commercial . <br /> Request died for lack of a motion. Mr . Skaar was advised to go to Town <br /> Board (Dec . 20) since he was dissatisfied with the results from to <br /> .r,gmmissi.on . <br /> 5) PRELIMINARY REZONE REQUEST , Tom Walz , 1650 Straus (Drotning) Rd. <br /> Request rezone of 35 acres from A-lEx to Rh4 . Discussion on what may <br /> trigger the town ordinance requiring homeowners to improve the town <br /> road . If another residence goes in on this property that would result <br /> in three residences using Odland Rd . Questions raised as to <br /> whether long-time residents (Odlands) would be required to pay for road <br /> improvements? How and to whom would road costs be assessed? Motion by <br /> P. Tyler to grant rezoning of 35 acres of nonfarm land (wooded) but <br /> presently A-1Ex to Rh4 . Second by L . Preston. Passed . <br /> 6) SPECIAL EXCEPTION PERMIT Sam Sloan , 1820 Oakview Dr . to fill - <br /> grade within 300 ft . of waterway (Yahara River) . John Wirth, <br /> neighboring property owner , expressed concern that a natural drainage <br /> pattern through this area would be altered. Mr . Wirth also is not <br /> willing to have any part of drainage ditches on his property. Chr . <br /> Green explained that a property owner (Mr . Sloan) has a right to alter <br /> his land providing it does not go onto his neighbors land or alter the <br /> drainage terrain of neighbors . Motion by R . Green to approve Special <br /> Exception permit , providing our Town Engineer reviews the erosion <br /> control map to protect adjoining properties . Second C .
