Page 2
''In September, 1991, Ramaker & Assoc., Inc., presented a second request to the
Roxbury Town Board to rezone the agricultural land east of Hwy. 78 to commercial
zoning to allow a truck parking lot. A copy of the Roxbury Township rejection letter is
attached in Zoning Petition #4928. The Roxbury Board members agreed that the
expansion of the existing trucking company parking, up to the natural barrier provided
by the railroad fill, was in their mind, the only practical solution.
Present Request
With the denial of two previous fill requests (6.89 acres and 4.2 acres), by the Dane
County Board, the owners of Fuchs Trucking Co. have retained Ramaker & Assoc.,
Inc., to prepare a wetland fill request, to fill 0.53 acres to make the existing lot more
efficient and 0.36 acre for bank slopes to control erosion to the wetlands. The west
portion of the lot will be part of a storm water control program.
We have had numerous meetings with Mr. Clark Amundson, Area Water Management
Supervisor (WDNR), in an effort to arrive at a solution to the Fuchs parking problem
and storm water control, that the DNR would not object to at future Dane County or
Army Corp of Engineer zoning or fill permit hearings.
We have prepared a map containing a legal description of the parcel of property to be
removed from the "overlay wetland zoning." If this is passed by the Dane County
Board, we will then apply for an Army Corp of Engineers flit permit.
•
