Because their parcel is in the corporate <br /> limits of the Village, notice of this proceeding was sent only to <br /> the Village itself, and our clients did not receive any direct, <br /> personal or actual notice of this application until a few days ago. <br /> Unfortunately, therefore, they are unable to personally attend this <br /> evening's hearing to register their objections to the grant of a <br /> conditional use for a quarry expansion. <br /> On behalf of our clients, therefore, we would like to <br /> formally advise the Committee of the reasons for their concerns and <br /> opposition to the quarry expansion proposal. To put the matter in <br /> perspective, we need to describe the nature of the land and <br /> development they have undertaken. <br /> Our clients' parcel is one of the last few parcels that <br /> qualify as an Urban Service Area, eligible for municipal sewer and <br /> water service.
