DANE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> The Dane County Board of Adjustment ment on June 19, 1970 at 7:30 P. M. in <br /> Room 226, (Circuit Court, Branch IV), to conduct a Public Hearing as pub- <br /> lished in the notice. The following members were present: Messrs. Erickson, <br /> lkiw Holte, Dahlk. Also present: Enger, Fleck. <br /> Meeting was called to order. Motion by Mr. Holte to approve the minutes of <br /> May 15 and June 13, 1970, second by Mr. Dahlk, approved. <br /> Notice was read and the Public Hearing opened: <br /> 1. Appeal by Loren Ray from denial of permit to remodel a building located <br /> in the NW4 SW 1/41 Section 7, Township of Albion. Permit denied because <br /> setback is less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> IN FAVOR: Mr. Ray explained that the remodeling was necessary to facili- <br /> tate conversion of the existing building into a veterinary clinic. <br /> OPPOSED: None <br /> TOWN BOARD: Not present. <br /> 2. A petition for a special exemption permit under 10.26 (3) 4. (b) of the <br /> Dane County Zoning Ordinance by the East Side Business Men's Association <br /> to conduct a festival on a parcel of land located in the SE1 NE4 Section <br /> 5, Township of Blooming Grove. <br /> IN FAVOR: Mr. Nelson, East Side Business Men's Association, stated that <br /> the exemption permit was necessary in order that previously made con- <br /> tractural agreements could be fulfilled. These agreements were made far <br /> in advance of the recent interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> OPPOSED: R. Judd, 9 Lansing St., stated that the festival was a general <br /> nuisance to the neighborhood creating parking, traffic and litter prob- <br /> lems. Mr. T. Hesse, 14 Lansing St. supported Mr. Judd and added that the <br /> resulting traffic was a hazzard to small children in the neighborhood, <br /> and the noise was objectionable especially in the evening. <br /> Chairman Erickson questioned the ESBM as to their plans for parking, <br /> traffic and litter control. Mr. Nelson stated that streets could be <br /> posted to limit parking to one side only. Police protection is on a 24 <br /> hour basis with 12 Deputies directing traffic and 5 patrolling the <br /> grounds, additional men have been deputized in the past to patrol the <br /> grounds. The Boy Scouts have been contracted to pick up the litter in <br /> the area. <br /> TOWN BOARD: Not opposed, per D. Gorgeson, Chairman. <br /> 3. Appeal by Habib Amim from denial of permit to build a duplex on lot 8, <br /> Arbordale Subdivision, Section 33 Township of Madison. Permit denied be- <br /> cause rear yard is less than required by the Dane County Zoning Ordinanc • <br /> In FAVOR: Mr. Arnim presented plans of the proposed duplex. Letters were <br /> read from Mr. R. Hasse, owner of lot 3, and Mr. T. Travers, owner of lot <br /> 7, stating no objection. <br /> TOWN BOARD: No objection per Mr. D. Priestorff, Supervisor. <br /> OPPOSED: None <br /> miscussion was held: Motion be Mr. Nolte to grant appeal #1, L. Ray, con- <br /> tingent upon addition being built on North end of building. Second by Mr. <br /> Dahlk, carried. Motion by Mr. Dahlk to grant special exemption to the East <br /> bide Business Men's Association, second by Mr. Holte, carried. Chairman <br /> LI rickson pointed out the the special exemption was for this year only and <br /> uture use of this property would require rezoning. Motion by Mr. Holte to <br /> :rant appeal #3, Habib Arnim, second by Mr. Dahlk, carried. <br /> he meeting was adjourned. <br />
