(2)
MINUTES OF THE DANE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTI€NT
MEETING OF OCTOBER 18, 1974
Erickson; Vandelism cannot be regarded by the Board of Adjustment as any
Aor part, for or against, the variance.
COMMUNICATION: Letter from Henry E. Reynolds and William J. Reynolds, in
favor of the variance.
#315. IN FAVOR: Francis and Pauline Post, purpose of addition is for a
garage. Addition in other location is not fessible because of lay-out of
house and steep slope at rear.
OTHERS IN FAVOR: None OPPOSED: None TOWN BOARD: Not present.
#316. IN FAVOR: L. Bloomfield, barn in bad repair but foundation is solid
and can be remodeled at less cost than building new. Question: Dahlk; how
large an area is zoned C-1? Bloomfield; I have about 4 acres. There is
room to build another building but thought it best to use old foundation
to save materials, etc. OTHERS IN FAVOR: None OPPOSED: None TOWN BOARD:
Gene Skaar; building as is, is a nuisance, if it were fixed up Town Board
would have no objection. Would suggest 60 day time limit for repair.
#3170 IN FAVOR: Mr. & .xs. Maloney, lot is shallow causing rear yard
problem. Garage has to be in this location because access to septic syste
has to be provided for pumping etc. Present access is only feasible access
because of topography of yard, and ditch by road.
OTHERS IN FAVOR: None OPPOSED: None TOWN BOARD: Not present
#318. Bob Kittleson, representing his father, Clarence Kittleson. Purposz
is to connect buildings so that area between cannot be used as a path for
snowmobilers and users of the Barber Boat Landing. It will also prevent
snow-build-up and icing problems for the residence. Question: Erickson;
has the road shown on the plot plan been vacated? Kittleson; road shown
is very ancient, there is no existing road and it never will be one.
Erickson; Age or existance has no bearing. A recorded road in a plat must
be properly vacated. The Board has no power to grant a variance for a
building located in a roadway. Suggest that the Town Board be requested
to vacate the road.
OTHERS IN FAVOR: None OPPOSED: None TOWN BOARD: Telephone call from
Chairman William Offerdahl, no position.
#3190 Mr0 & Mrs. Choyeski, purpose of permit is to allow siding of house.
OTHERS IN FAVOR: None OPPOSED: None TOWN BOARD: Not present
#320. IN FAVOR: Anthony Meinholz and John Garfoot, purpose of proposed
dredging and tiling is to prevent flooding of crop land and to provide
good drainage. The creek was originally a man-made ditch and not a nat-
ural creek. It has filled in, due to flooding and is too shallow to carry
the required flow. A substantial amount of land in this area has been
tiled in the past and drains into the creek.
OTHERS IN FAVOR: None OPPOSED: None TOWN BOARD: H. Brunner,Chairman
of the Town Board, is in favor - planning to put in new bridge on Obser-
vatory Road but are hung up on this dredging.
COMMUNICATION: Letter from, A. E. Ehly, District Director, D.N.R. in
opposition. Garfoot is a navigable trout stream and authority must be ob-
twined from D.N.R. before initiating any work that will affect the stream.
