Mark A. Swartz &
Carol L. Swartz
927 Johnson Ave. JAN 3 - 1992
Oregon, WI 53575
Dane County Department - Zoning and Natural Resources Committee
Attention : Shary Bisgard , Chair
Room 116 , City-County Building
Madison, WI 53709
December 31 , 1991
Subject : Zoning Petition #5212 C.U.P. #966 By : Debra J. Schanke
We are writing this letter to inform the Dane County Zoning
Committee that we are against rezoning or allowing a conditional
use permit for the 4. 4 acres located at 4743 Tyler St . , Oregon, WI .
Our property is parcel number 0509-134-0302-6. It is located to the
west of the referenced property and in direct view of the parked
semi-tractor/trailers . See attached highlighted map .
On November 4 , 1991 , We presented a petition signed by twelve
different property owners who oppose any rezoning to the subject
property which would allow the parking or operation of semi-tractor/
trailers . This petition was given along with several color photos
to the Rutland Twp . Zoning Commision. Attached you will find a
copy of this petition.
We feel that the parking and operation of semi-tractor/trailers
from a residential and agricultural area is unsafe, aesthetically
a eyesore, and a noise nuisance . Road damye has and will continue
to occur at the expense of local property owners . Property values
and saleability will be reduced .
Finally , Mr . and Mrs . Schanke were aware of the RH-1 zoning status
when they built their home on this property . They made no attempt
to request rezoning until after we filed a complaint and they were
informed by Zoning of the violation. Mr . Schanke told the Rutland
Twp. Zoning Commision that when he purchased his property he had
checked with Dane Co . Zoning and that parking his semi-tractor/trailer
"would not be a Problem" (Nov . 4 meeting) .
In summary , we ask that Dane County Zoning deny this usage change
request and maintain this area in a rural residential and agricultural:
setting .
Sincerely , 1
dideGoid Je.,u---s
Mark A.
