Removal of deteriorating boathouse left unsightly and potentially <br /> dangerous exposed foundation. <br /> 2). Foundation was removed; compacted fill and sod were added. Retaining <br /> walls were constructed to stabilize lake side of boathouse foundation site. <br /> Stairs and a stone patio were added to provide water level access to the lake. <br /> 3). Project was completed without Special Exception Permit. Engineer's <br /> statement submitted after completion of project states that drainage has not <br /> been affected, erosion has not been caused, and flood storage capacity has not <br /> been changed by this project. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> The project as planned, with specified conditions; will not result in <br /> substantial detriment to navigable waters by erosion, sedimentation, <br /> impairment of fish or aquatic life, or safe and healthful conditions. <br /> Motion carried - 3-0. <br /> #2344. Morris Court (aka Wakanda Drive) is a platted road right-of-way, but is <br /> not currently used nor is it intended for future use as a road. <br /> 2). Other residences in this area have been built in or near the Morris Court <br /> right-of-way. <br /> 3). Applicant and Town of Westport are working on vacation of this <br /> right-of-way. Town will retain utility easements. <br /> CONCLUSION: <br /> 1) . Variance preserves the Zoning Ordinance as much as possible without <br /> injustice to applicant. <br /> 2).
