•
have represented a 40Y. profit.
Mr. Gilbert' s reply, "This gentleman here apparently doesn' t know
nothing about economics, I don' t either, I only have a tenth
grade education but ah I currently own ah about ten, twelve
million dollars worth of real estate and I read that stuff and
that' s all E . S. Um, he' s trying to tell me that ah I would lose
my ass if I built apartments. . . that should be no concern of his.
The concern here is they' re gonna take a piece of land that' s
zoned R4 and converting into some other zoning. It' s the same
thing as me going down say ' I don' t like his house, I think it' s
a disgrace. I think we should rezone that to a cornfield. Same
damn thing. And as far as his offer on being offered a 4(Y/.
profit um ya know until somebody comes in with a check, people
can talk all they want, ya know money talks and bullshit walks.
And nobody ever came in with a check er er an offer er anything.
It' s all been I ' ll give you this or I ' ll give you that".
Mr. Gilbert's demeanor has been hostile since the first
meeting and his veiled threats of mini-warehouses and truck
terminals has not set well with the property owners in and around
Colladay Point. His language during the Town of Dunn board
meeting also did not set well .
What puzzles us most is why the owner of the property, Mr.
Neitzi1 , has not spoken, other than to acknowledge that he indeed
is the owner.
One more point, please. Mr. Glenn Kinderman, District
Conservationist has looked at the property and stated, "A more
practical alternative may be to develop more storage capacity
west of the street. This could be done in conjunction with any
proposed development in the area. This would require some
innovative landscaping and engineering to balance the discharge
and storage through the system. A multi-purpose pond, properly
designed and landscaped, would provide temporary flood storage,
sediment trapping and recreational and visual benefits" .
Thank you for your attention.
Sincere regards,
Alan John Carlson
:156 Colladay Point Drive
Stoughton, Wisconsin 53589
•
