The bid
specs are ready to let bids . Which we cannot, do until we
know if we can located the new town hall .on ,the site. In
conjunction with that issue is also the issue of opening up
the sale of the present facility in the City. of Madison . It
will take time to secure bids , have a bid opening, and make
a decision. At the same time the plans will have to be
drafted for the town hall facility. We have already
contacted the Sheriff's Department in regards to ,building
there facility for the Northeast Precinct within our town
hall . I believe that they have a lease that expires in June
or July of 1989
There will be an informal meeting of the County, City of
Madison, City of Sun Prairie and the Town of Burke on
Thursday July 21st in regards to our town hall site and the
future planning of the area between Madison and Sun Prairie.
The Town of Burke has participated in the extraterritorial
committee that was formed years ago with the City of
Madison . I would assume that that committee would be
reconstituted and include the City of Sun Prairie .
Our need for a town hall in our municipality is now, and
this is a separate issue from the planning of the area
between Madison and Sun Prairie . So at this time we would
like to ask for your support of the C. U.P. and the C . S .M. to
locate our town hall on the Hoepker Road site , next to the
Hoepker Cemetary which is owned and maintained by the Town.
We feel that there will not be any further development at
this time, as any development would require a change in
zoning and also a division of the land . Which both items
will need approvals from the County, the two Cities and the
Town of Burke . So if this is what the County, the City of
Madison and the City of Sun Prairie are concerned about,
they really have no need to be concerned as they will have
to agree to the changes before any development can occur,
Respectfully,
7'77
;z .( /lc2e/L
Step en a A.
