•
4 ) The mounds are presently covered with trees and one
has a root cellar dug into it. With the permission
of the Historical Society, we will remove the trees,
plant a natural ground cover and fill in the root
cellar . This apparently provides for better preser-
vation than trees or lawn on the mounds .
5 ) The Okisting driveway across the southern contour
of the northern mound will be removed and the land
re-contoured.
B) LAKEFRONT
1 ) With CSM approval , the conservation easement will
prevent the building of a boathouse( s ) .
2 ) With CSM approval the two dwellings on the lake will
be demolished. The new homes will be greater than
75 feet from the lake secondary to the floodplain
and mounds . The lakefront will look less developed
than it does in its present state .
C) PROTECTING THE WOODS
1 ) CSM approval will place approximately 5 acres of
land into conservancy protecting it from future
attempts at development.
2 ) We have contacted Mary Hughston of Nature Conservancy
in regard to a conservation easement of this 5 acres
for further protection. We are awaiting her reply.
Other conservation agencies will be considered, but
not promised should the Nature Conservancy have no
interest in our proposal .
3 ) CSM approval will result in the demolition of all of
the 8-10 existing buildings which are in various
states of disrepair . Only the 3 new homes would
remain on the property. All abandoned vehicles and
old fences will also be removed.
4 ) The homes ( Lot #1 , 2 , 3 ) were purposely placed on the
north end of the property where the land is presently
cleared and occupied by four inhabited dwellings .
This allows the undisturbed southern end to remain
undisturbed.
5 ) A lawn restriction will protect the woodsy nature
of the land.
6 ) A strict internal fence restriction will allow only
for enclosing small areas so that new fence lines
will not visually divide the land.
