Madison Wild Waters
Description of Park Components
CAN AM CARS-Can Am Cars are the new version of the late 60's go-kart. They
are operated on the same type of track as the karts, but the cars differ
substantially. The Can Am Cars have an unbreakable body that resembles
their full size counterparts and are powered by Honda 4 cycle engines. They
are safer, quieter and appeal to all age groups.
WAVE POOL-This huge fan shaped swimming pool will be unique to the Madison
area because of it's great potential to serve as an attraction making waves
and also as a competitive pool for local and national swim meets. This wave
pool is being designed to have the potential to host the swimming events for
the 1987 National Sports Festival if Madison wins it's bid for these games.
Eight feet deep at one end and 184' wide, and over 200' long, the pool will
flare out to 220' wide and only 3" deep at the shallow end. Waves created
at the deep end of the pool are over 4' high and move towards the shallow
end breaking into surf and whitecaps. This pool is supervised by a crew of
eight lifeguards that will be trained in the operation of a wave pool
facility.
