To be consistent with plan <br /> policies, a plan amendment would be required before considering such a <br /> large area for development. <br /> If there were consideration of a plan amendment, the applicant indicates <br /> that 67% of the area is farmland, most of it "prime agricultural soils". <br /> It is also noted that there are over 60 vacant lots in the Town of Sun <br /> Prairie, as well as over 250 vacant lots to the south in the Town of <br /> Cottage Grove. Thus, from either a farmland preservation, or a need for <br /> development perspective, there is little justification for such a plan <br /> change. <br />
