MODERN PLUMBING AND HEATING
NORMAN M. PECK
131 DEERFIELD RD. PHONE 655-3162
MARSHALL, WIS. 53559
TO: LYMAN ANDERSON, CHAIRMAN
COUNTY AG ZONING COMMITTEE AND MEMBERS
SUBJECT: ZONING PETITION #3888 C.U.P. #554
DATE: JULY 24, 1987
Dear Members:
I have received a draft of the proposed conditions,
which Richard Lehman, Attorney for the concerned citizens has
sent to your committee for consideration prior to issuing
this permit.
I find most of the conditions acceptable except these
sections (1.d) , (2) and (5).
Section (1 d) is asking the permit holder to furnish a $25,000
performance bond to guarantee reclamation of the land where sand
will be extracted. In the past all sand pits we have operated
have been closed to the proper side slopes and covered by at
least 6 inches of topsoil. In all cases the land was put back
to better farmable land than it was originally. The Town of
Medina Board has waived this requirement because of our past
record in this matter and we will continue to restore this
property to all County and Town Board mineral extraction land
reclamation guidelines.
Section (2) deals with road maintenance and dust control.
I have stated that during hauling operations that I will water
the road from the entrance of Box Elder Road to the pit site
areas when necessary to control the dust.
