SECTION 10.01 <br /> (19) Family: Any number of individuals related by blood or marriage, or not to exceed <br /> five (5) persons not so related, living together on the premises as. a single house- <br /> keeping unit, including any domestic servants. <br /> (20) Garage, Private: An accessory building or accessory portion Of the main building, <br /> used,. or designed or intended to be used for the storage of private motor vehicles be- <br /> longing to the family or families resident .on the premises, and in which no business, <br /> service or industry connected directly or indirectly with motor vehicles is carried on, <br /> and provided that not more than one-half of the space may be rented for private vehicles <br /> of persons not resident on the "premi.ses, except that all of the space in a garage having <br /> a capacity of not more than twu cars may be so rented. Not more than one commercial <br /> vehicle may be stored in such garage and such commercial vehicle shall not exceed two <br /> and one-half (2Y2) tons capacity and must belong to a family or member of a family <br /> resident on the premises. <br /> (21) Garage, Public: Any building, structure or premises used for the repair, servicing <br /> or storage of motor vehicles for the general public. No building or premises used for <br /> the sale-, ' display for sale, of motor vehicles or trailers, where no repairs or mechani- <br /> cal work is .done, shall be considered a public garage for the purposes of, this ordinance. <br /> (22) Home Occupation: .Any occupation for gain or profit conducted only by members of the <br /> family resident iipon the premises,provided that no articles may be sold. or offered for <br /> sale except those produced on the premises, and no article may be displayed so as to be <br /> visible from the street or highway. Home occupations may include: doctors and dentists, <br /> music teachers, weaving, knitting and similar:`activities, and when approved by the state <br /> board ,of health, may include barber shops and beauty parlors.. The buying and selling <br /> of any article will not be deemed a proper home occupation. <br /> (23) Hotel: A building in which board and lodging are provided to the transient public <br /> for compensation. <br /> (24) Junk or Salvage: Any item, material or product Which is no longer usable as was <br /> originally intended. An automobile, truck or other motor vehicle may be considered for <br /> purposes of this ordinance as junk if it is not currently. licensed and has had any of <br /> its parts removed or is not in Operating condition. <br /> (25) Lodging House: A building in which lodging. accomodations are provided by previous <br /> arrangement for definite 'periods of time to four (4) or more but not to exceed twelve <br /> (12) 'individuals not members of the family. <br /> (26)'.Lot: A parcel of land occupied or intended to be occupied by one building and its <br /> accessory buildings and uses, except as otherwise provided .herein. A lot' may be a <br /> parcel designated in a plat or described in a conveyance recorded in the office of the <br /> register of deeds, or any part of a larger parcel when such part complies with the re- <br /> quirements of this ordinance as to width and area for the district in which it is <br /> located. No lands included in any street, highway or railroad;right-of-way shall be <br /> included when computing area. <br /> (27) Lot, Corner A lot located at the intersection of two streets, any two corners of <br /> which form an angle of one hundred twenty (120). degrees or less, or.,,is bounded' by a <br /> curved street any two chords of which on the inside of the curve form an angle;of'.one <br /> hundred, twenty (120) degrees or less. <br /> (28) Lot, Interior: A' lot which is not. a .Corner lot. <br /> (29) Lot Lines:' The' lines bounding a lot as described herein. <br /> (30) Lot Width: For purposes of this ordinance the width of a lot shall be the shortest. <br /> distance between the _side lines at the setback line. On triangular or irregular shaped <br /> lots the width shal1,Fbe the shortest distance between the side lines of the lot at the <br /> building line. Such building line may be the setback line of a line designated on a <br /> plat, or in a conveyance of an un'platted parcel. On farm lands, where the distance <br /> between side lines may vary, the distance between the side lines at the point where <br /> - 3 - <br />
