(13) Colony House: A building for the breeding and raising of experimental and laboratory <br /> animals, such as white mice and rats, guinea pigs and the like, and for the storage <br /> of feed and accessory materials. <br /> (14) Committee: The Agricultural Extension & Education, Zoning Planning & Water Resources <br /> Committee of the Dane County Board of Supervisors or any other Committee of the Dane <br /> County Board of Supervisors delegated with the responsibility for zoning matters under <br /> Chapters 59.97, 59.971, 87.30 and 144.26 of the Wisconsin Statutes. <br /> (15) Condominium Apartment: An apartment house in which individual apartments may be offered <br /> for sale instead of for rent: <br /> (16) Construction Equipment: Shall include but not limited to tractors, both wheeled and <br /> crawler types, graders, end loaders, scrapers, bull dozers, cranes, back hoes, drag <br /> lines, trucks, including dump, stake body or semi-trailer to-boys of more than 2 1/2 <br /> ton capacity, "cherry picker" vehicles and air compressors. Any of the aforementioned <br /> equipment that is used in connection with a farm operation is not leased or contracted <br /> for use on any other property shall not be considered construction equipment. <br /> (17) Day Care Centers: A place or home which provides care for four or more children under <br /> the age 7 years for less than 24 hours a day and is licensed as provided for in Chapter <br /> 48.65 of the Wisconsin Statutes. <br /> (18) Drive-in Establishment: An establishment of the "drive-in" type is one which accommo- <br /> dates motor vehicles from whidlthe occupants may obtain or receive the service or ob- <br /> tain a product which may be, used or consumed in the vehicle on the same premises or is <br /> one which accommodates motor vehicles for the purpose of fueling or providing minor ser- <br /> vices for such vehicle. However any restaurant or food establishment in which facilities <br /> are provided for patrons to consume the products therefrom in a motor vehicle while on <br /> the premise-or any such establishment of any such establishment which is primarily de- <br /> signed to allow patrons to consume the product therefrom in a motor vehicle on the premises <br /> shall be considered a drive-in establishment. All such establishments shall operate pur- <br /> suant to a conditional use permit secured from the Committee. <br /> (19) Duplex: A residential building designed to be occupied by two families living inde- <br /> pendently of each other. . <br /> (20) Dwelling: <br /> (a) Single Family Dwelling: A building designed for and occupied exclusively as a resi- <br /> dence for one family. <br /> (b) Multiple Faraly Dwellings: A building designed or intended to be used by more than two <br /> families living independently of each other. <br /> (21) Extended Care Facilities: A nursing home which is certified by the State of Wisconsin - <br /> under the Federal Social Security Act to care for patients under the Medicare Program. <br /> (22) Family: Any number of individuals related by blood or marriage, or not to exceed five <br /> (5) person not so related, living together on the premises as a single housekeeping <br /> unit, including any domestic servants. <br /> (23) Croup Foster Homes: Homes for the mentally retarded which are licensed under Chapter <br /> 146.305 (Chapter 323 Laws, of 1973) of. the Wisconsin Statutes. <br /> (24) Home Occupation: Any occupation for gain or profit conducted only by members of the <br /> family resident upon the premise, provided that no articles may be sold or offered <br /> for sale except those produced on the premises and no article may be displayed so as <br /> to be visible from the street or hi4iway. A home occupation shall be accessory or in- <br /> cidental to the residential use of the Premises. <br /> (25) Hospital: An institution providing health services, primarily for in-patients, and <br /> medical and surgical care of the sick and injured, including as a integral part of the <br /> institution, such related facilities as laboratories, out-patient departments, training <br /> facilities; central service facilities, and staff offices. <br /> (26) Hotel: A building in which board and lodging are provided to the transient public for <br /> compensation. <br /> (27) Institutions for Children: An institution for the care of children as licensed and <br /> authorized by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services under Chapter 48, <br /> Wisconsin Statutes. <br /> - 2 - <br />
