TE?T'ATM ZONING ORDIITANCE D.LVE COUA;TY, u:ZSCONSIN J` %k Wisconsin State Flarsing Board jui e 17, 1938 A Zoning Ordinance enacted pi- rs::ant to the provisions of Sections 59.97 and 59.99 of the statutes and proviCLing renalties for the violation of its provisions. The Board of Supervisors of Dane County does ordain as follows: SECTION I. DEFINITIONS For the purposes of -this ordinance, certain words and terms are defined as follows: Words used in t1le present tense include the future, words in the singular number include the plural number and words in the plural number include the singular number; the word "building" includes the word "structure ", the word "shall" is.mandatory and not directory. Accessory Building: A supplemental building or portions of the main building, the use of which is incidental to the main building. Boarding house: A building other than a hotel where meals are sold, pursuant to previous arrangement and not to anyone who may apply, for five (5) or more persons not members of the family. .^ ry P Building: Anything constructed and designed to stand more or less permanently and occupying a space of lazd. Dwelling, Single Family:' amily A detached building designed for and occupied ex- clusively by one (1) family. DProlling, Multiple Family: A budding or portions thereof used or intended to be used by two (2) or more families. Family: Several individuals living together and cooking on the premises as a single housekeeping unit, together with all nocossary employees of the family. Garage, Public: A building or portion thereof used for the housing or care of more than three (3) soli- propelled vehicles or where any such vehicles are equipped or repaired for reriunoration or' kopt for hire. home Occupation: A gainful occupation conducted by members of the family only, within its place of residence, provided that the space used is incidental to residential use and that no article is sold or offorod for sale except such as is produced by such home occupations. Lodging House: A building other than a hotel, where lodging only is provided for compensation pursuant to previous arraaigemont and not -to anyone who may apply for five (5) or more persons not members of the family. Non- conforming Use: A building or premises occupied by a use that does not conforn: to the regulations of the district in which it is located. Roadside Stand: A farm structure used or intended to be used solely by the owner or tenant of the farm on which it is located for the sale of only the seasonal farm products of the iimaodiate locality in which such roadside stand is located. Setback Lines: Lidos established adjacent to highways for the purpose of dofining limits within which no building or structure or any part thereof shall be erected or perrianontly ri.ilitainod.
