Section l0,16 General Provisions and'Exeeptions <br /> • <br /> • <br /> (d) In districts where signs and signboards are permitted, such signs, when not <br /> attached to or suspended from a building, may project into the setback area; provided, <br /> • <br /> however, that at the intersection of two streets.or highways, or of a railroad right <br /> of way and a highway, no sign shall be erected or hung so as to project within the <br /> setback area of either street, highway or railroad right of way. For purposes of this <br /> •subsection the setback from a railroad right of way shall be the same as for a Class <br /> A 'highway. <br /> (e) ;In the case of interior lots having frontage on two streets, no accessory <br /> building shall extend into the setback area of either street. <br /> • (f) When—the side line of an interior.lot is formed wholly or in part by the rear <br /> line of an abutting corner lot.and the street side yard for the main building is less <br /> than the setback for the main buildings facing such street, 'the setback for the build- <br /> ing on such interior lot may be modified so as to be midway between the side yard for <br /> the building on the corner lot and the setback for such street. <br /> (g) In' platted subdivisions recorded before•the adoption of this ordinance where a <br /> building line shall have been established by the construction of buildings on thirty <br /> (30) Per cent of the lots in any one block., such establish-ed_setback line-shall-be <br /> the setback for such block, but in no event shall such setback be less than twenty , <br /> • (20) feet° <br /> (h) No existing building, erected prior to the adoption of this ordinance, .which . <br /> projects into the setback area„ shall be moved, structurally altered or added to so <br /> as to increase that part of the building projecting into the setback area. This pro- <br /> vision shall not be construed to prohibit additions or alterations which conform to <br /> the setback requirements. <br /> (5) Side Yards. <br /> (a) Lots of Non-Conforming width. <br /> 1. 'On lots fifty (50) feet-or more'in' width_but less than sixty (60) feet, the <br /> minimum aggregate side yards shall be fifteen (15) feet.and no single side yard shall •be less than five (5) feet,. - <br /> : 2. On lots less than fifty (50) feet in width the minimum side yard on each side <br /> shall be five (5) feet,. • <br /> • <br /> (b) Corner Lots. • <br /> 1. When the long side of a corner lot is'formed by a Class A, B or C highway the <br /> • side yard on suet' street shall conform to the setback requirements for such highway. <br /> 2. When the long side of a corner lot.is formed by a Class D or E highway the side <br /> yard on such street shall be not less than one-fifth of the width of the lot, but in <br /> no event less than ten (10) feet. The ten (.10) foot minimum shall apply only on lots <br /> fifty (50) feet or less in width. <br /> • <br /> 3. Side yards for uses designated in Section 10.05 (1) (f). . (g) and (h) shall be <br /> not less than fifty (50) feet on each side of the building; and for uses designated'in <br /> Section 10. 12 (1)(g). the minimum side yard on each side shall' be seventy-five (75) <br /> feet. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> (6) Rear Yards. - <br /> (a) Location of accessory buildings in rear yards, <br /> 1. On interior lots sixty(60) feet or more in width no accessory building shall'be <br /> • <br /> erected, moved or added to so as to be nearer than four (4) feet to the side lot line <br /> or the rear lot line <br /> 2, On interior lots less than sixty (60) feet in width no accessory building shall <br /> be erected, moved or added to so as to be nearer than two and one-half (21/2) feet to <br /> the side lot .line or the rear lot line. <br /> 3. On interior. lots abutting on two 'streets, or corner lots abutting on three <br /> streets, no accessory building shall be erected, moved or added to so as to be nearer <br /> the rear street than the setback-for such street. This provision shall not apply to <br /> alleys. <br /> -68- <br /> • <br />
