4 <br />SECTION 10.01 <br />(37) Person: Except where otherwise indicated by the context, the word person <br />shall include the plural, or a company, firm, corporation or partnership. <br />(38) Personal Service Shop: A shop providing personal services, such as a barber <br />shop, beauty parlor and the like. <br />(39) Professional Office: A building in which is provided space for professional <br />offices such as doctors, practitioners,.dentists, realtors, engineers, lawyers, <br />authors, architects, musicians and other recognized professional occupations. <br />(40) Recreational Camp: An area containing one or more permanent buildings used <br />occasionally or periodically for the accomodation of members of associations <br />or groups for recreational purposes. <br />(41) Rendering Plant: A plant for the reduction of dead animals or slaughtered <br />animals not suitable for human consumption, to'by- products, such as hide, skin, <br />grease, bones, glue and soap, and for the storage of such by- products. <br />.(42) Roadside Stand: A structure used or intended to be used by the owner or <br />occupant of the premises on which it is located for the sale of farm or garden <br />products produced on the premises or adjacent premises. Such structure shall <br />not be placed within the setback line and may not be used for the sale or <br />dealing in merchandise other than farm products locally produced. <br />(43) Rooming House: Same as lodging house. <br />(144) Setback: The minimum horizontal distance from the front lot line or from the <br />center of the highway, measured parallel to the highway or front lot line, to <br />the front of the building. <br />(45) Sign: A sign is an emblem, name, identification, description or-illustration which <br />is affixed to or appears directly or indirectly upon a. building, structure or <br />piece of land and which directs attention to an object, product, place, activity, <br />person, institution, organization or business. Neither official court or public <br />notices, official highway markers, traffic direction and control signs, nor the <br />flag, emblem or insignia of a nation, political unit, school or religious group <br />shall be considered a sign under this ordinance. <br />(46) Sign (Advertising, Bill Board or Posterboard): A sign which directs attention <br />to a commodity, service or entertainment not exclusively related to a specific <br />location or premises where such a sign is located or to which it is affixed. <br />(47) Sign (Directory): A sign which directs attention to a business, service or <br />entertainment at a specific location or premises other than the premises or <br />location at which the sign is locatb..d. <br />(48) Sign (On Premise): A sign which indicates the name of the establishment where <br />the sign is located or to which it is affixed and which also may direct attention <br />to a product not exclusively related to the premises where such sign is located <br />or to which it is affixed, but sold or offered upon such premises. <br />(49) Sign (Home Occupation): A sign which directs attention to a home occupation <br />permitted on the premises to which the sign is affixed. <br />(50) Sign (Real Estate): A sign which directs attention to real estate which is for <br />sale, lease, rent or trade. <br />(5 1) Sign (Development): A sign which directs attention to a future building or to a <br />building under construction. - 5 - <br />
